A Cocoa Beach vacation is one meant for relaxation, but even if you don’t do a lot of physical activity, the salt air is known to enhance the most reluctant of appetites, and we at Happy Palm Stays intend to help you conquer that hunger in all the most delicious ways. We understand the importance of a good meal and we encourage you to remember that there are no calories in vacation foods (that’s our story and we are sticking to it!), and your summer body will stay svelte no matter how many wonderful meals you feed it. And after rifling through our favorite meal lists, we have created this guide to the must-try summer eats in Cocoa Beach, ensuring that your every meal will be the most memorable one!

Spice Up Your Day with a Spicy Bacon Breakfast Burrito at Cloud Parlor Speakeasy Café, 297 W Cocoa Beach Causeway
A little bit of heat can bring joy to tastebuds bored by the bland, and the spicy bacon breakfast burrito at Cloud Parlor Speakeasy Café is just the dish you need to tempt them. Reservations are required for this popular eatery, ensuring that you will have the time to linger over a second (or third cup of coffee) and savor every bite of the burrito made with eggs, cheddar cheese, avocado, pork bacon, and a hit of hot honey that will be the kick in your appetite you crave. You will also have the time to read a little or play one of the board games that line the shelves of this unique breakfast (and dinner) spot!

Sipping at SuperVillain Coffee, 174 Canaveral Plaza Boulevard

While coffee isn’t technically considered a food, so many people in the world often skip breakfast and just have coffee, so we feel it’s close enough to add to our list of Cocoa Beach restaurants. The temperatures will be warm during your summer visit to paradise, so iced coffee, of course, is the way to go here, and if you really need to eat something to feel like you are following the rules, their ice cream is a frosty treat not many can avoid! Oh, and don’t forget to check out the comic books and other retro merch offered for sale during your visit; this is a great spot to purchase souvenirs.

A Bite of BBQ at Big Daddy J’s 5 Great Things, 3850 N Atlantic Avenue

A summer barbecue is an American tradition that we can get behind, and the BBQ at Big Daddy J’s 5 Great Things (that certainly is a mouthful, isn’t it?) will keep dad away from the grill so he can enjoy his vacation too! Mom’s Brisket might be our favorite meat, and they make many different dishes from the meat, including brisket tacos and chimichangas. Another dish worth noting isn’t BBQ, but the Frito Pie is a Tex-Mex favorite that will add a little extra spice to your life.

Beachside Burgers and Seafood at Coconuts on the Beach, 2 Minutemen Causeway

We can’t forget the beachfront restaurants that offer their own laid-back vibe and food that just tastes better with the musical accompaniment of the roar of the surf, with Coconuts on the Beach long being a favorite of visitors and residents! Offering juicy burgers, including the Cocoa Beach famous Black n’ Zola, made blackened and topped with gorgonzola cheese crumbles and bacon. For those looking for something a little lighter during these sultry days of summer, we are obsessed with Coconut’s Mango Mahi, offering a taste of the tropics you will never forget. The mango salsa is what gripped us by the taste buds and never let go, but the mahi is mild and delicious, and the black beans and jasmine rice it is served with add a touch of heartiness to the meal.

Devouring Dessert at the Fat Donkey Ice Cream & Fine Desserts, 247 Minutemen Causeway

Remember the no calories in vacation food theory we mentioned earlier? Well, pay close attention because you will need to remember it when you walk in the front door of Fat Donkey Ice Cream & Fine Desserts and instantly start salivating! We can’t think of any finer summer activity than enjoying a frosty cone, trying to finish before it melts all over your hand, and the flavors at the Fat Donkey help keep our ice cream obsession alive. Calypso Crunch, made with chocolate ice cream blended with peanut butter-filled chocolate-covered pretzels, and a river of peanut butter is the one we highly recommend, but all are good. On the fine dessert side, we can’t help but pick up a few different flavors of their Baked Dessert Jars, especially the strawberry shortcake.
