The sun is shining, it’s time to turn those dreams you had for a summer vacation in Cocoa Beach into reality. Now is the perfect time to get a head start on your summer vacation planning, including reserving your Happy Palm Stays vacation rentals, and perhaps bringing a little warmth into your still chilly spring days as you do!
Plan to Pack Light
Whether you are a procrastinator throwing clothes in your suitcase willy nilly as you are preparing to leave for the airport or you are a careful planner, making lists far in advance and checking off everything as you neatly pack it away, you still may dread this simple task. We at Happy Palm Stays want to take the ugh factor out of packing, with this brief list of what you may need.
Pack light for this trip of a lifetime, tossing in a few different swimsuits for each traveler, shorts, tee shirts, cover-ups that you can toss over your suit and head to the restaurant comfortably, and of course, some cute and colorful sundresses. Flip flops will mostly be your shoe of choice, unless you plan on doing some hiking, and in that case, your most comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
Sunglasses, hats that guard against the sun, and sunscreen are suggested if you want to be able to see where you are going, and you don’t want to wear the lobster look everyone else will be sporting!
Plan to Hang Ten
We suggested packing more than one swimsuit because almost every activity you participate in will be one involving the water, and as this part of Florida is famous for being a surfing destination, we believe that your summer vacation in Cocoa Beach should include surf lessons from the world-famous Ron Jon Surf School.
In business for over 30 years, the expert instructors can assess your skill levels and will have you catching waves far sooner than you ever thought possible!
Plan for Beach Days and Nights
These white sand beaches are our favorite places on earth, and after your time in Cocoa Beach, we know they will be yours as well. Stake your claim on a portion of the beach, marking your territory with colorful beach towels, chairs, and an umbrella (most of which can be found in a closet or spare room of your Happy Palm Stays summer sanctuary!) and spend your days savoring sun and surf.
As many of our escapes sit just off those sands, you can easily enjoy nighttime strolls as the moon casts its cool glow over the waves that crash against sandy shores. Maybe you will surf, maybe you will rent jet skis from Ron Jon Watersports, or maybe you will build sandcastles with your toddler and take a nap as the warmth of the Florida sun finally rids your body of the chill left over from winter.
There is no wrong way to play on our beaches just many wonderful possibilities for peace, excitement, and fun.
Plan to Eat Well and Healthy
Eating healthy isn’t always easy and its rarely fun, but the seafood in this part of the world is fresh, sweet, and so delicious, you can have a great time and who knows, maybe you will return home having lost a few pounds.
Florida’s Seafood Bar & Grill, 480 W Cocoa Beach Causeway, Jazzy’s Mainely Lobster, 210 N Orlando Avenue, and because we believe seafood should be savored at every meal, the crabcake Benedict served at the 4th Street Fillin’ Station, 382 N Orlando Avenue, will definitely get you seeing things our way! Looking to celebrate something wonderful? The seafood at the Fat Snook, located at 2464 S Atlantic Avenue takes your dining experience to the next level of elegance and sophistication.
Plan to Relax as Hard as You Play
Our Happy Palm Stays summer sanctuaries are designed to be the best part of your vacation experience, offering comfort, luxury, and quite often, views of the sea you will never want to leave! Watch the sunset from your balcony, nap on plush sofas after a morning of beachy shenanigans, and sleep well as you dream happy every night of your stay.
